What does paper
do to your printing

The right paper for your brochure, catalog or magazine: making a real difference

The choice of paper determines more than you think. It makes your design not only look, but feel.
Whether you’re working on a brochure, catalog, magazine or other print product, the right type of paper takes your design to the next level.

You created a design with attention and passion. Then you want a stunning end result in your hands just as you envisioned.
The look, feel and quality of your printing are closely related to the type of paper you choose.

Coated paper

Coated paper is also called coated paper. This paper has a coating layer. This layer ensures that the paper has a smooth surface and thus feels smooth to the touch.

This coating also makes the paper easier to print on and provides greater tinting strength. The coating makes the paper and print slightly reflective. At the same time, this coating gives the paper a luxurious appearance.

For the coating, you have a choice of a matte or glossy look.

Uncoated paper

Uncoated paper is paper without a coating layer. We can also distinguish this paper as uncoated paper. Uncoated paper has a rough surface and therefore feels rougher.

In uncoated paper, the printing ink is absorbed by the paper fiber. This also makes uncoated paper perfectly writable. Of course, you can also write on coated paper, but this is more likely to smudge. Because the ink is absorbed by the paper fiber, the colors are less bright.

By the way, this again gives a nice serene look and is pleasant to read.

Recycled paper

Recycled paper is an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional paper because it is made entirely from waste paper or cardboard.

Unlike new fiber paper, which requires fresh wood for production, recycled paper helps preserve forests and reduces the need for new raw materials. The paper consists entirely of recycled and bleached waste paper, and there is no discernible difference from paper made from new fibers.

The paper is often less bright white and has a slightly warmer or grayish tint.

TIP

Pay attention to the type of paper you choose.

On a yellow or grayish paper, the colors of your images and objects will turn out differently than if you take a pure white paper.

Nature paper or uncoated paper

Unlike recycled paper, uncoated paper cannot be produced in only one way.

In fact, it is a general term for special papers characterized by a natural appearance, environmentally friendly production processes and/or the addition of various environmental materials such as grass or limestone, which gives the paper a unique texture and feel.
